The Historic Jayhawk Theatre is a 1926 architectural landmark in downtown Topeka, Kansas, recognized as Kansas’ Official State Theatre and the city’s last remaining historic theater. The theatre originally opened to showcase cutting-edge film technology, closed in 1974, and was later revived through grassroots advocacy that led to its designation as the State Theatre of Kansas in 1993.
